Volkswagen Navarra has donated a total of 40,000 euros distributed among the ten most voted social interest programs by its staff. The donation of this amount is part of the 7th edition of ‘Your Solidarity Project’.
This Thursday the act of delivery of the ten checks, of 4,000 euros each, to the representatives of the winning entities took place, Volkswagen Navarra highlighted in a statement.
‘Your Solidarity Project’ is a corporate social responsibility initiative of Volkswagen Navarra, by which the automobile company undertakes to contribute an amount of money each year to the projects most voted by its workers, the same that is also delivered by the works council . In this edition, company and social representation have contributed 20,000 euros each.
The projects submitted to voting are in turn presented by the factory workers themselves and must comply with the requirement of being promoted by an entity owned by Navarra and carried out in the Autonomous Community.
In this seventh edition, the three solidarity projects most supported this year by the factory workers have been those supported by the Association to Help Children oncology (ADANO), the Foundation for Applied Medical Research (FIMA) and the Family Association of People with Hearing Disabilities (EUNATE).
In total, in the set of seven editions held to date, Volkswagen Navarra has donated 249,000 euros to 55 social projects.
About 1,800 factory workers have participated in the voting to choose their three favorite projects, thus closing a process that began on May 3 with the opening of the deadline for factory workers to submit projects for three weeks. its financing.
After verification by the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee that the programs presented met the required requirements, the voting was held between May 31 and June 18.
During this period, all Volkswagen Navarra workers had the opportunity to vote on three projects per person, among the initiatives presented for financing.
Specifically, the 10 social projects that have been awarded with this financial aid correspond to the following Navarran entities: ‘Program of psychosocial and economic support for children with cancer and their families’, from Adano; ‘Boosting the survival of motor neurons: a new strategy to cure ALS’, by FIMA; ‘Learning to speak’, by the Eunate Association; and ‘Attention in social exclusion: learning to live without your loved one’, by the Goizargi Association.
They have also been chosen ‘Equine therapy: horse-assisted therapies for children with cerebral palsy and other related disabilities’, from the Fundación Aspace Navarra; ‘Physiotherapy in rare diseases’ by GERNA; ‘Goal 20 bucks: rehabilitation for minors with acquired brain damage’, by the Hiru Hamabi Association; ‘Transportando capacities’, by the Navarra Multiple Sclerosis Association; ‘Helping families with cancer in the most difficult moments’, by AECC 10; and ‘Psychological care for people with breast cancer and their families’, by Saray.
