German carmaker Volkswagen has announced the launch of an anniversary edition for the Touareg. It’s called “Edition 20” and was created on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the launch of the first generation of the popular SUV.

The first generation Volkswagen Touareg was launched in 2002, and four years later received a well-deserved facelift. Since then, the premium German SUV has firmly established itself in all the markets where it has been marketed, becoming a remarkable success.
In fact, globally, over a million copies have been sold so far, an excellent value for the demanding C-segment SUVs. In 2010, the second iteration of the model made its debut, which remained on the market until 2018. Since then, the current Touareg has been produced.
In 2022, the Volkswagen Touareg celebrates 20 years of existence. To mark the moment properly, the Wolfsburg manufacturer is launching a special edition model. It’s called the Touareg “Edition 20” and comes with exclusive design accents on both the exterior and interior.
This anniversary Touareg received a special paint called Meloe Blue and a set of new Bogota rims finished in 20-inch glossy black. The exterior is complemented by black accents on the wings and speaker, an “Edition 20” emblem on the B-pillar and smoky windows.
Four engine versions for Touareg “Edition 20”
Inside we find exclusive Savona black leather upholstery with contrasting Ceramique beige diamond stitching. The “Edition 20” logo appears on the gear lever and illuminated sills. There are also red stitches and accents on the dashboard.
The Volkswagen Touareg “Edition 20” is available in four engine versions. Are available two V6 3.0 TDI diesels, of 231 and 286 hp, and a gas station, also 3.0-liter V6, which delivers 340 hp. The top of the range is a 381 hp hybrid plug-in engine.
All engines are connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission, which transmits power to both axles. The price of the special edition Touareg “Edition 20” starts at 77,530 euros in Germany.
