RAISE THE WHEELS – The Volkswagen ID.2, the electric small car announced for 2025 with a price of less than 25,000 euros, will also have a crossover sister. This model could be even more strategic for the German brand, because cars with raised bodywork are more appreciated by the market than classic sedans. Therefore, if the ID.2 is destined to replace the current Polo, the Volkswagen ID.2alla SUV (in the image above in chiaroscuro) will represent the battery-powered heir to the current T-Cross, entering a market segment in which models such as the electric Fiat 600 and Jeep Avenger are already present. L’I arrive the series model is expected on the market in 2026with a starting price that should remain below 30,000 euros.
LESS SINUOUS – In the meantime, the German company has anticipated a teaser of the profile of the Volkswagen ID.2all SUV showing the silhouette of the car and the headlights. There is a strong style, more squared than the current models in the ID range. The wheel arches are voluminous and you can see the air intake motif on the C-pillar, which in the standard version could be made of glass. There is also a large rear spoiler, which will certainly help improve the crossover’s drag coefficient.
SEGMENT B – The Volkswagen ID.2all SUV it should be approximately 4.1 meters long and have a larger trunk than the 490 liters offered by the ID.2 sedan. Inside the passenger compartment we can instead expect a practically total similarity between the two cars, with a 12.9-inch infotainment screen and a 10.9-inch digital instrument panel. Some controls, such as audio and climate controls, should retain physical buttons. According to some rumors, it should only be available with front-wheel drive, power up to 226 HP and with drums 38 or 56 kWh, with autonomy up to 450 km. Thanks to recharge fast, capable of reaching 125 kW, it will be able to go from 10 to 80% in about twenty minutes.
