At yesterday’s Munich Motor Show, which replaced the IAA in Frankfurt, Volkswagen unveiled the concept for a new compact crossover with electric drive system.
The prototype is called an ID. Life and will receive a production version in 2025. According to Carscoops, the new affordable model will cost about 20,000 euros. In the model range of the brand, the compact crossover must be placed one step below the electric hatchback ID.3, which now in Germany costs at least 35,460 euros.

The new product is built on an abbreviated version of the modular platform MEB. The length of the car is 4091 millimeters. The front-wheel drive car is equipped with an electric motor with 231 horsepower. Acceleration to 100 km / h takes 6.9 seconds for the crossover. Its maximum speed is 180 km per hour.
ID. Life was equipped with a battery with a capacity of 57 kWh. The power reserve gives an autonomous mileage of 400 kilometers. Thanks to the fast charging system, the electric charge can be recharged to cover 163 km in just 10 minutes.

The crossover with a two-tone body lacks a radiator grille, its place is taken by a plug with a glowing emblem. Instead of side mirrors, the car has small cameras that emit images to monitors in the cabin.
