Volkswagen hands over the first ID.4 electric SUV in Dresden

Volkswagen has started delivering the second model in its fully electric ID series. The first ID.4 sports vehicles were handed over to customers today in the Transparent Factory in Dresden. As the group announced, around 23,500 orders have been placed across Europe so far. This year around 150,000 ID.4 are to be sold worldwide. In addition to Europe, Volkswagen also wants to serve the important markets of China and the USA.

The SUV – like the ID.3 – will initially be built in Zwickau. From there it is also delivered to the USA. The mid-range car also rolls off the assembly line in two plants in China. In total, the carmaker plans to sell 450,000 electric and hybrid cars this year. The ID.5 Coupé will be added in the second half of the year and the larger ID.6 SUV in the summer, which will only appear in China.
