Volkswagen and Audi Dealerships in Baltic States Sign Cooperation Agreement with Elektrum for Electric Car Charging Infrastructure

Møller Baltic Import, the importer of Volkswagen cars in the Baltic States and the importer of Audi cars in Latvia and Lithuania, has signed a cooperation agreement with the energy company Elektrum, which is developing the electric car charging infrastructure “Elektrum Drive” in the Baltic States.

As part of the cooperation, more than 100 charging points in 28 Volkswagen and Audi dealerships throughout the Baltics (except Audi in Estonia) will be visible on the Volkswagen “We Charge” and Audi “Audi Charging” platforms, as well as in car navigation systems and the “Elektrum Drive” app. Charging points will be gradually replenished during 2023.

“In the coming years, we expect a significant increase in the sales volume of our electric cars, so we want to provide our customers with sustainable and flexible charging solutions at an affordable price. For this reason, Møller Baltic Import has chosen Elektrum as a reliable cooperation partner to ensure the operation of our charging services and their future expansion. Our goal is to make public charging even easier and more accessible both for our existing customers in the Baltics and for hundreds of thousands of Volkswagen and Audi electric car owners across Europe, who will be able to use these charging stations when traveling around the Baltics,” explains Ilze Grase-Ķbilde, CEO of Møller Baltic Import.

Ansis Valdovskis, manager of JSC “Latvenergo” electric transport charging network, adds that the company continues to expand its operations throughout the Baltics: “In the field of electromobility, we work according to the dynamic market situation and demand, looking for and creating innovative ways of cooperation. Cooperation with Moller Baltic Import gives us new opportunities, including sharing the experience and knowledge of the “Elektrum Drive” charging service. The “Elektrum Drive” app will provide an opportunity for all electric car users to pay and charge at these charging stations, allowing them to travel comfortably and safely, plan destinations throughout the Baltics, as well as visit dealer centers. We are pleased that a cooperation partner like Moller Baltic Import trusts us.”

Before cooperation with “Elektrum Drive”, 28 charging stations and more than 100 charging points located in Møller Baltic Import’s dealer network were mainly used for the operation of the dealers. As a result of the new cooperation, these charging points will also be visible on the “We Charge” and “Audi Charging” platforms, as well as on the “Elektrum Drive” mobile app, thus almost doubling the number of charging points served by “Elektrum Drive”. The inclusion of these charging points in the “Elektrum Drive” system is planned to be completed by the end of 2023. This will also ensure that the navigation systems of Volkswagen and Audi electric cars will have visibility of these new charging points and information about their load.

We Charge and Audi Charging is a subscription service that Volkswagen or Audi customers can use to charge their electric cars across Europe at more than 500,000 charging points, including the Ionity fast charging network. These services are mainly intended for private customers, but are also available for business customers.
