After informing you last week about Audi’s decision to stop developing new internal combustion engines, similar news has not been delayed by Volkswagen. The company will use the available bikes, making them even more environmentally friendly to meet Euro 7 standards.
In its plans for electrification, the German company mentioned that it will keep models that will be powered by gasoline and diesel engines, such as Golf, Passat, Tiguan and T-Roc. The next generations of those listed will have a hybrid drive to meet the strict standards set by the European Union, but will not switch entirely to electricity.
On the other hand, the head of Volkswagen said that all the profits from these models will be invested in the development of technology in electric cars. The goal that the Germans want to achieve by 2030 is over 70% of sales for electricity cars in Europe and 50% of total sales in other continents.
