Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (for YES) and the South Bohemian Governor and Head of the Association of Regions of the Czech Republic Martin Kuba (ODS) support vaccination against covid-19 for children from the age of five. They agreed on support in today’s Terezia Tománková Party on CNN Prima News.
–
Vojtěch reiterated that the Czechia has already ordered vaccines for children aged five to 11. Vaccination will be able to start once they have been approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). According to Miloslav Ludvík, director of the Motol University Hospital (ČSSD), parents should first consult a pediatrician before vaccination.
–
“The larger the group (vaccination) will have it, the less the virus will break through in the population,” Kuba said.
–
For some, the epidemic is over
According to Ludvík, the question of vaccinating children is difficult. “Anyway, I think every normal parent will go to see a pediatrician. This is normal and I would recommend it, “he said. “Feel free to consult a pediatrician,” he added. Ondřej Dostál (Pirates), a lawyer specializing in health law, also agrees, according to which vaccination must be mainly voluntary.
–
Kuba, Vojtěch and Ludvík also agreed that vaccination is so far the best defense against covid-19. According to Vojtěch, immunity after vaccination is more permanent than after the disease. According to him, the best immunity will be obtained by those who are vaccinated after the illness.
–
“For such people, the epidemic is over. These people who have suffered from the disease and get vaccinated do not have to deal with anything, because they are practically 100% protected, “he said.
–
According to Cuba, it would then be good to find a tool to force GPs to vaccinate their patients. Even according to Vojtěch and Dostál, it is necessary to cooperate with general practitioners, because people have confidence in them.
–
In the Czech Republic, covid has been vaccinated since the end of last December. Paramedics have given people over 12.5 million doses during that time. Over 6.13 million people are fully vaccinated. The possibility of registering vaccinations has gradually opened up to individual age groups; children from the age of 12 can register from 1 July.
