Earlier this year, the Voigtländer Nokton 50mm f/1 Aspherical RF-mount was launched – the first third-party lens authorized by Canon to use the RF mount. Now comes a slightly less bright alternative: Voigtländer Nokton 40 mm f/1.2 Aspherical RF-mount.
The lens has manual focusing and a microprocessor that can communicate settings to the camera body. It also means that the camera housing focus aid can be used.
The optical construction consists of 8 lenses, two of which are aspherically shaped. The aperture has 10 blades to provide rounded circles of blur in all situations. The close limit is 0.3 meters, which gives an image scale of 1:4.9. The size is 71 x 56 mm and the weight 400 g. The filter diameter is 58 mm.
The lens will start shipping on January 20, 2024, lens hood included. The recommended price in Japan is 120,000 JPY.
