“Voice Of Switzerland”: Will Lorena Beadini win in the living room today?

Without a big live show, but with a world first, the finale of “The Voice Of Switzerland” will take place on Monday evening. The youngest of the eight finalists is Lorena Beadini from Rickenbach, who is just 16 years old. The winner will be determined by telephone voting.

It should already be clear whether Lorena Beadini from Rickenbach is the third “Voice Of Switzerland” and thus the successor of Nicole Bernegger (2013) and Tiziana Gulino (2014). But the corona virus wanted it differently. The planned final live show, which should have been recorded in a television studio in Cologne, had to be canceled because major events are currently not allowed in Germany or Switzerland. So the television makers had to be creative and look for a new solution. This in turn took time, which meant that the planned final broadcast date – it would have been March 30th – could not be adhered to.

But a week later the time has come on Monday evening. As usual, the TV audience uses telephone voting to decide who will become “The Voice Of Switzerland”. Corona sufferers benefit from the income from telephone charges. The eight finalists will sing in their own living room, according to several media reports. The minimum distance of two meters from other people is observed at all times. Loud “20 minutes»It remains open whether everything is live in the program or whether certain blocks will be pre-recorded. For the first time ever, such a music show is decided in this way.

She sings in 13 languages

Lorena Beadini is the youngest of the finalists – and certainly has a chance of winning. “Otherwise I wouldn’t have registered,” she said in March hallowil.ch (see article below). With her voice she convinced the jurors. Everyone pressed the buzzer and wanted to win “The Voice Of Switzerland” with her. The Hinterthurgauer, who has parents from Macedonia and not Italy and sings in 13 different languages, finally decided for the former song contest participant Anna Rossinelli.

Will Lorena Beadini become the third “Voice Of Switzerland”? The final show will be broadcast on Monday evening from 8:15 p.m. on the “3+” channel. Also hallowil.ch will report.

Lorena Beadini is in the final (March 17th)

She is only 16 years old, a student and can draw well. Above all, Lorena Beadini is a singing talent. She is taking part in this year’s season of “The Voice Of Switzerland” – and successfully. Since late Monday evening it has been clear that she is in the final of the last two singers. The battle was first broadcast on TV channel 3+, in which the song “Be The One” by Dua Lipa was sung in pairs. The woman from Hinterthurgau emerged victorious and was among the top seven finalists.

Also in the so-called sing-off round, consisting of the battle winners, Lorena Beadini knew how to please. With “All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor, she sang not only in the hearts of the audience and the jury, but also in the grand finale. In this she stands together with Drilon Musa.

In portrait: The singing and drawing winner (12.3.)

“What am I actually doing here?” Says an inner voice of the young casting show candidate before she goes on the big stage. “But now there is no going back – and you have nothing to lose,” says a second inner voice. The young singer notices how she trembles. It gets incredibly hot, it starts to sweat. With trembling knees and a microphone in her hand, she enters the stage. She stops, takes a deep breath. As if she wanted to chase away her nervousness with all her might. “Now pull yourself together,” says the second inner voice. The young girl looks ahead. At first she only sees outlines of five large armchairs. Because they dazzle headlights. The music of Meghan Trainors “All about that Bass” can be heard in the hall. The girl starts to sing as if she had never done anything else.

When Lorena Beadini looks back on her first appearance before the “The Voice of Switzerland” jury during the so-called blind auditions, she thinks, among other things, of her nervousness. “Even if I had nothing to lose, I was more nervous than ever in my life,” says the 16-year-old from Rickenbach. No wonder, since she had to convince well-known jury members and musicians such as DJ Antoinne, Anna Rossinelli, Noah Veraguth and the “Büetzer Buebe” Gölä and Trauffer. And Lorena Beadini was able to win everyone over with her voice. Because during their performance all jury members pressed the buzzer and signaled to them: “I want you on my team and win ‘The Voice of Switzerland’ with you”. “I am honored that all of the jury members turned around,” says the Rickenbacher, who is currently attending the technical secondary school in Frauenfeld, “because it showed me that I can really sing.”

A humble and down to earth student

This Thursday afternoon, Lorena Beadini hurried down the stairs of her parents’ house with slightly wet hair. Her clothing style is modern, but not too striking. Medium-light jeans, black belt and a pink tight top. “Sorry, I still had to take a shower after class, but now I’m ready,” she says, breathing out deeply. Immediately afterwards she offers something to drink and something sweet. Then she sits down at the long wooden dining table that stands between the kitchen island and the living room. A television can be seen in the background. The second broadcast of this year’s “The Voice of Switzerland” season is on. Her parents recorded the show with their appearance, says Lorena Beadini and laughs. She laughs like girls of her age do when they feel uncomfortable. A yellow picture hangs on one wall in the living room and immediately draws attention. “My mom painted that,” she says. Her mother infected her with artistic interest. “In addition to singing, I love to draw.” She also proved that with her “The Voice of Switzerland” appearance. Because she portrayed the two jury members Anna Rossinelli and DJ Antoine each with a pencil drawing and gave them to them after the singing.

The name “Lorena” comes from the Latin word “Laurus”, which means “the laurel wreath”. The laurel is considered a symbol of victory and thus “Lorena” figuratively stands for “the winner”. Lorena Beadini herself doesn’t interpret much in the meaning of her first name. “No, I don’t see myself as the winner right now,” said the 16-year-old. Of course she hopes to win the race this year. Otherwise she wouldn’t have registered for the season at all. “But my competition is tough,” she adds, “and nobody sleeps here.” You see “The Voice of Switzerland” as a great opportunity. “I’m learning so much right now.” The tips from professionals, working with television, the planned shows – all of that was exciting for her. It feels like a sponge that wants to say as much as possible. “And yes, my dream is to make my own music at some point and to touch and inspire other people with it.”

“Lorena is a humble girl,” says her mom Afrodita Beadini, “who works on herself in a self-critical manner.” Mama Beadini says that the 16-year-old is sometimes too critical of herself. “That’s why she usually sells herself and her talent far too badly,” says Afrodita Beadini, who fully supports her daughter in her singing career. She admires her daughter, as well as taking FMS training and all the exams, still taking singing lessons and preparing for the next “The Voice of Switzerland” program. “Although the competition is very strong, I rate my daughter’s chances well.”

Lorena Beadini’s heart decided so

Flashback to the second episode of the new “The Voice of Switzerland” season: DJ Antonie, known as the most internationally successful Swiss house DJ and producer, kneels with a red rose in front of Lorena Beadini and asks her to join his team. Singer Anna Rossinelli, who competed in Switzerland for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011, advises the student not to let me bribe me. «You offered everything a voice can offer. Your performance was like a fruit basket and you made use of everything », said Rossinelli. Noah Veraguth, who started with the band «Pegasus» in 2007, has also been a fan of the first hour: «It was a perfect vocal performance because you made your own version of this song.» And Gölä from the jury duo Büetzer Buebe adds one more thing: «If you can sing like this at the age of 16, it is disgusting. How will it sound when you are 20 years old? » The young participant smiles at every single word of praise. She thinks for a few moments, but finally decides: “I choose Anna Rossinelli.”

“Why did I decide to join Anna Rossinelli’s team?” The 16-year-old repeated the question. The singer is an exemplary power woman – the Rickenbacher can identify with her. Her heart decided that way. “I also think that we women have to stick together,” says Lorena Beadini, who was born in Wattwil in 2003. She admires every girl and woman. «Each is special in its own way – no matter what it looks like. Thin, curvy, small, large, light or dark-skinned. » Every woman does a lot and is important to society. Her parents – mom an interpreter, dad a project manager – originally come from Macedonia. “I know that because of my surname, many think we are from Italy,” she says. She is proud of her roots. And she likes to visit her parents’ home country. For her it is a gift to be able to grow up with two different cultures. “It broadens the horizon,” she says. Open, respectful, curious – the Rickenbacher describes herself with these three characteristics. One reason why she sings in 13 different languages. English. German. Albanian. Bosnian. Arabic. French. The list is long. “I deal with different cultures and their music,” she explains. One of her biggest dreams is to travel the world and discover unknown spots.
