Users of the PlayStation 5 will soon be able to record conversations via Party Chat while gaming. They can then send the recordings to Sony for review. In this way, users can notify that the rules for using Party Chat on the PlayStation are being violated.
The functionality came to light when users on the PlayStation 4 were notified after an update that their conversations can be recorded via the Party Chat. Then Sony confirmed the new functionality in one blog.
The company is reporting that the assessment of recorded voice chat will be a feature on the upcoming PlayStation 5. “The feature allows users to record their voice chats on PlayStation 5 and send them to a moderator.”
Because of the report, some users thought that Sony could actively listen in on all conversations that are being made via Party Chat. Sony’s description shows that only conversations that users record and report are heard by the company.
Recording the Party Chat is currently only possible on the PlayStation 5, which will be released later this year. Users of the Playstation 4 will soon be able to chat with users of the new PlayStation 5. That is why they are warned that their conversations can also be recorded via Party Chat and sent to Sony.
