In the third round of the regional weightlifting league last Saturday, October 9th, the SK VÖEST Linz III team won against the WKG Buchkirchen / Wels with 2.0 (1352.15 to 1299.20) in the ESV Wels clubhouse. Result list:

[2021.10.09 RL-3.R WKG Buchkirchen / Wels vs SK VÖEST 3]

Table: 1. WKG Ranshofen / Vöcklabruck 8: 2 and 7 points, 2. SK VÖEST Linz III 8: 4 and 7 points, 3. WKG Buchkirchen / Wels 2: 5 and 2 points, 4. WKG Bad Häring / Rum 2: 9 and 2 points.

The final of the regional league will take place on October 30, 2021 in Ranshofen.

Bundesliga final:
The stage in the Kultursaal Vösendorf will only tremble if the final round of the ÖGV – Bundesliga takes place on Saturday, October 16 from 3 p.m. After the preliminary round, AKH Vösendorf has 11 points, SK VÖEST Linz 10 points, WKG Bad Häring / Rum 6 points, WKG Bruck / Barbell Tribe 3 points and WKG Ranshofen / Vöcklabruck 0 points.

The decision as to who will be team national champion 2021 Vösendorf or VÖEST will be a very close game, the AKH Vösendorf scored 1733.36 points in the second round, the SK VÖEST Linz in the first round in the 1: 2 defeat against Vösendorf 1706.77 points .

Klaus Hofwimmer: “We will prepare well for the final and compete with the maximum possible strength. We do not want to announce the exact list beforehand. In any case, it will be a very exciting competition and the team that has the fewest bad attempts will win. We have a small advantage, because it is enough to win a duel and a sub-discipline ”.

Now an arithmetic game: If you add up the five best performance points of the athletes, the AKH Vösendorf scores 1761.67 points and the SK VÖEST Linz 1732.48 points. But now the question arises, when does SK VÖEST have in addition to the fixed starters: Olympians Sargis Martirosjan, Amagiak Misakian and Victoria Hahn still in the talon? Florian Hofwimmer, who already scored 312 points this year, slips into the team as the fourth lifter or Aslanov Aslanbek makes a comeback and a fifth place in the team is puzzled. Is there a comeback for Philipp Forster, who has not lifted for a long time after a wrist injury? Or the comeback of Michael Rottner to at least in the tear and Philipp Forster starts in the push that is possible, especially since a change is allowed according to the regulations. If both don’t start, 16-year-old Luca Modrey could slip into the team. Of course, SK VÖEST would gain strength with Forster and Rottner and also increase its points account. So there is enough tension in advance.

A little more about Victoria Hahn, who is also ÖGV national coach, she currently has a full-time job – coaching her athletes in international competitions and preparing for the Bundesliga final – until Monday, October 4th, she was at the U20 European Championships in Finland and last Friday, October 8th, the U17 World Championship went to Jeddah – Saudi Arabia. She will look after Johanna Pfeilstöcker, who will start on Tuesday, October 12th.

The other three teams will fight for third place, with WKG Bad Häring / Rum having the best chance of securing third place. The second Upper Austrian team in the final, the WKG Ranshofen / Vöcklabruck, had to do without Stefan Spindler in the final, as he was taking part in a CrossFit competition in Barcelona.

Masters European Championship:
The 35-year-old Sargis Martirosjan will start five days after the Bundesliga final on Thursday, October 21st at the Masters European Championship in Alkmaar – Netherlands in the weight class up to 109 kg. His goal in addition to the European Championship is to improve the Masters world records in the class up to 109 kg, which are currently at 167 kg in the snatch, 194 kg in the push and 359 kg in the duel.
