The operator Vodafone will offer a speed of 1 Gb/s to almost two million households from July. It is both our own fixed internet connection network and our ever-growing cooperation with partners. Thanks to it, gigabit internet from Vodafone is now also available in cities such as Prachatice, Zábřeh or Třeboň. The offer of gigabit connections is coming or growing significantly in more than 60 cities.
Within a few years, the share of households and companies in the Czech Republic that will be able to use a gigabit Internet connection will increase significantly. Thanks to optical fibers, which in practice bring connections at speeds of 1 Gb/s and higher. This is also thanks to the cooperation that Vodafone and T-Mobile announced last year.
Part of the agreement also includes making part of the already built connections available to each other. At home, this cooperation will bring not only faster availability of the new generation Internet, but also competitive tariff offers from both operators. That is why the coverage map in which Vodafone offers its fixed internet services is expanding from July 2023.
