Vocational training: Sonja Schmitz expands the management of the bfw group of companies

Sonja Schmitz has rounded off the management of the education provider since February 16, 2021.

Erkrath. As COO, Sonja Schmitz will manage the group together with Klaus Knappstein, who will act as CEO and spokesman for the management.

Sonja Schmitz’s focus is on product and quality management, marketing and the operational alignment of the business areas. With the assumption of responsibility for information and communication technology – including the digital transformation – she will focus on the operational management. Klaus Knappstein controls the strategic corporate orientation, financial management, human resources management, the legal and compliance department and the orientation of weitblick – personalpartner GmbH and the IFTP institute.

“I am looking forward to leading the bfw group together with Sonja Schmitz safely through the Corona crisis and into a successful future”, explains Klaus Knappstein, who has been the management of the education provider since October 2018.

Sonja Schmitz has been involved in vocational training for more than 20 years. She exercised various management functions. Most recently, as an authorized signatory, she was responsible for the strategic market orientation of a well-known educational institution. Market topics and the development and placement of innovative learning formats (virtuality) are the main focuses of her work so far.
