VMVS from Roeselare was one of the first to start live streams in Flanders. Jurne Verstraete was indeed one of the first to do live streams during the first lockdown. “We tried to count a little on the support of the fans and the viewers. We also tried to make a real stage, so that it looked a bit professional on the screen. ”
“We soon realized that it was not that easy to really wake people up to support an online event with a fee. We tried it out with different famous and lesser known artists and we also test different formulas. One was already more successful than the other. We also constantly learned to improve the quality of our streams in terms of sound and image. We also tried out different platforms to see what was the best, but especially what was most interesting for people to follow. Many had a hard time going to an unknown medium and logging in somewhere to watch the stream ”; says Jurne. “That is why we decided in the autumn to work with a link on Youtube, because we have good quality there
could stream to and it was very easy for the people to follow and also transfer to their TV, so that they can follow on a big screen. Because that is really what people want, if they have given something of support, they want to be able to watch it on the big screen. In December, we expanded our system and now simultaneously stream to Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Twitch to appeal to an even wider audience. But the biggest change in the system was that we sought support from self-employed people who wanted to promote their cause in this way. Naturally, it followed that the general public could watch the streams we broadcast for free. The first series was thus a great success with 20,000 direct views on the various platforms. Leah Bien, together with guest artist David Decoene, brought that first series of three. In a second scheduled series starting on Saturday January 30, Leah Bien has invited Chris Reilhof as guest. We have regained the support of a number of companies, which makes it free to watch on Youtube (Leah Bien’s channel), Facebook (Leah Bien’s fan page) and of course this is shared on various profiles, Twitter (twitter.com/vmvsbe ) and Twitch ( www.twitch.tv/leahbien) .”

“We obviously hope to be able to welcome as many people as possible. People can respond live to the artists, who see all reactions in the studio appear on a screen and can therefore respond to the audience, which is even more fun for the audience, because they can still have direct contact with the artist. to make. Look and try to enjoy is the message in this difficult period for everyone ”, concludes Jurne Verstraete of VMVS from Roeselare, who will undoubtedly make many music fanatics happy with this free musical offer.
