Vlahovic leads Juventus to victory over Turin in the Italian league

Serbian Dusan Vlahovic scored a goal in the final minutes leading Juventus to a 1-0 victory over local neighbors and rivals Torino in Italian Serie A on Saturday.

Juventus were under pressure after losing 2-0 to Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League, but the team’s lackluster performance, which suffered many absences in the first half, did not arouse optimism.

“I’m happy, especially as it’s our first away win this season. We haven’t been able to score in three of our last five games, so it wasn’t easy. The team showed the strength of its character,” said the coach. Juventus Massimiliano Allegri told the Dzon platform.

Juventus is missing Angel Di Maria, who was absent until the beginning of next month due to a hamstring injury. The midfield suffers from the absence of the attacking midfielder and he struggles to create opportunities and find space against Torino.

And almost the first half saw no serious chances from either team. Torino timidly tries to score from outside the box, but the Juventus defense is on guard.

Striker Vlahovic had his first real chance to score in the 34th minute, but fellow goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic brilliantly blocked his attempt before Manuel Locatelli stopped him from scoring.

Milinkovic-Savic returns as a protagonist at the beginning of the first half, when he brilliantly blocks Locatelli’s shot, which goes on the net.

Moise Kean close to Juventus’ lead in the 62nd minute, but his shot failed from close range.

At 74 ‘Vlahovic frees himself from defensive control and scores from close range, taking advantage of Danilo’s pass, giving Juventus a precious victory.

“The last period was frustrating, but sometimes things are out of our hands. Today we took a small step out of this situation and I had no doubts that the team would succeed, now we have to continue,” added Allegri.

Juventus climbed to seventh place with 16 points in ten games, while Torino finished 11th with 11 points.
