Vladimir Putin, comparing himself to Alexander Nevsky, is trying to justify his own failures in foreign policy, El Murid believes.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin burst out with a scandalous pseudo-historical statement that Alexander Nevsky in the 13th century submitted to the Horde supposedly to save Russia from the evil West. His words are a sign of psychological problems.
This opinion expressed Russian analyst and blogger Anatoly Nesmiyan, who is also known under the nickname El Murid.
He called the dictator’s pseudo-historical statements “nonsense.” Murid recalled that during Nevsky’s reign there was no trace of Russia, but fragmentation. And Alexander himself submitted to the Horde not to save some mythical “Russian bonds,” but to preserve his life and power.
“It seems that our historian-marine-carpenter 4th category was not completely defrosted before consumption, because he was carrying more than usual“, suggested Murid.
In his opinion, Putin’s statement does not directly relate to history, but to the field of psychology. This was probably his reaction to the regime’s dissatisfaction with the fact that the Russian Federation was rapidly falling under China.
“The dependence (of Russia on China – ed.) is now literally total. It is unlikely that Kim Jong-un, without the instructions of his senior comrades, began to ship a strategic supply of ammunition to his northern neighbor, and this is the highest level of dependence – the inability to ensure his security perfectly demonstrates to the Chinese leadership the degree of Russia’s collapse“, explained the Russian blogger.
Overall, according to Murid, Putin’s attempt to identify himself with great historical figures is a sign of deep self-doubt. Having only failures and disasters in both domestic and foreign policy, the dictator is trying to find an excuse for himself in history.
Earlier, Dialogue.UA reported that Putin voiced a new reason for the invasion of Ukraine.
