Vladimir Putin’s Comments on Attacks on Gerhard Schröder in Germany and Nazi Sympathies: Latest Updates

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, commented in German on the attacks on the former German Chancellor, Gerhard Schröder, which are currently taking place in Germany, informs Rador Radio Romania.

In an interview for the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” from the television channel “Rossia-1”, a fragment of which was published on his Telegram channel by journalist Pavel Zarubin, the Russian leader drew attention to the fact that recently, all the world witnessed an “ugly demonstration” in the form of applause for a Nazi in the Canadian Parliament.

“Regarding the former chancellor of Germany, Gerhard Schröder, you said that he is being put aside somewhere, that they are trying to move him somewhere. So, I mean: the further away from Schröder, the closer to Anthony Rota , who sympathizes with the Nazis” – emphasized the Russian president, referring to the former president of the House of Commons of the Canadian Parliament. In order to be “heard in Germany as well”, Vladimir Putin repeated this phrase in German, adding: “There are a lot of decent people in Germany, and I’m sure many will hear this.”

Thus, the Russian leader commented on the words of the journalist according to which Schröder is seated at important events in such a way that he does not sit next to the current German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Bild newspaper announced about this case. According to the German publication, on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the unification of Germany, Gerhard Schröder was invited to the official celebrations, but the protocol service of the Government made sure that he was not included in the same frame as the leading politicians of the country present at the events, including the current chancellor Olaf Scholz.
