Russian President Vladimir Putin’s car was reportedly attacked and an assassination attempt. In a report by the Daily Express, a loud explosion was heard near Putin’s limo and thick smoke appeared on the left front tire.
The car was immediately moved to a safer location while Putin’s condition would have been good. However, several people were arrested by local security forces.
According to the General GVR Telegram channel, Putin’s bodyguards disappeared after the secrets of the 69-year-old’s movements were leaked.

The Anti-Kremlin said Putin was returning to his official residence with a convoy of more security-equipped bodyguards. There were five bulletproof cars in the convoy, and Putin was in the third car.
“Return to his residence, a few kilometers from here. The first escort car was blocked by an ambulance, the second continued to run without stopping despite the sudden obstacle and as long as the road continued through the obstacle” , writes the Daily Express.
“In the white car, there was a loud explosion from the left front wheel and thick smoke,” explained the channel again.
Despite some technical problems, Putin’s car would have reached a safer place. Following the incident, the General GVR Telegram channel said the head of the presidential guard and several others were suspended and detained.
Regardless of the attack attempt, Vladimir Putin is always protected by a car nicknamed the ‘walking fortress’ weighing 7 tons. The car is said to be very safe due to the various features it carries. The car is the Senate Aurus and has been in use since 2018. The strong mobile Aurus that Putin travels on was developed by NAMI, which stands for Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engine Institute of Russia.
Some features of the “walking fortress” to protect Putin include the ability to withstand explosions, gunfire and chemical gas attacks. The Aurus Senate is also equipped with advanced communications, making it an in-car command center.
In addition, the Aurus car glass is also thickened by up to 6 cm. The Senate Aurus is clad in armor and sits on Kevlar tires to keep it running when hit.
Passengers wishing to close the car window blinds can still see what is happening outside the vehicle in real time via live CCTV footage displayed on the inside screen. Some reports have even suggested that Aurus’ Senate could keep Vladimir Putin safe even if his car was submerged in water.
This luxury car is powered by a 4.4-liter V8 biturbo hybrid engine developed in collaboration with Porsche, which produces 590 hp and 649 lb-ft (880 Nm) of torque. NAMI has also developed a powerful engine for the Aurus Senat with a 6.6-liter V12, which can spit out 857 hp.
