Russian President, Vladimir Putin have a special interest in Sambo. Even he once struggled to introduce Sambo to the world closer!

“Hopefully one day Sambo will enter the Olympics. This sport has crossed Russia and is loved by many athletes in the world,” he explained as reported by sambo.sport.
“It’s a really beautiful and dynamic type of sport that co-opts a lot of combat sports,” he continued.

Sambo Initially it was used by the Russian army on the battlefield in the 1920s, especially in close combat. Sambol aims to take down opponents more quickly and efficiently.
