Russian President Vladimir Putin assured that his country has the most perfect weapons that other countries do not have. The Russian president awarded the Order of St. Andrzeja to the constructor Gerbert Jefremow for his work on the Avant-garde system.

At a meeting with Yefremov, Putin said that the work on the Avant-garde system, armed with ICBMs with hyper-sound maneuvering warheads, could be compared to the scale of nuclear weapons projects in the USSR.
– Now, for the first time in our modern history, Russia has the most modern types of weapons, which many times surpass in their strength, power, speed and – what is very important – precision all those that have existed so far and exist today – said the host of the Kremlin.
In his words, Russia was “forced” to work on hypersonic weapons when the US withdrew from the ABM treaty (limiting missile defense systems) in the last decade.
– We had to create this weapon in response to the US deployment of a strategic anti-missile shield system, which in the future could actually neutralize our entire nuclear potential – said Putin.
According to official Russian sources, the Avant-garde nuclear warhead, which glides over dense layers of the atmosphere, can reach speeds of up to 20 times greater than sound, and perform evasive maneuvers to overpower missile defense. These warheads are mounted on UR-100N ICBM (Western designation Stiletto).
