Due to a reservation by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, the project for the integrated development of space information technologies “Sphere” was renamed. The head of state spoke about this at a meeting with young industry specialists.
“Initially it (“Sphere” – approx. URA.RU) was called “Ether”, but at one of my public appearances I misspoke and said “Sphere”. I came to the Kremlin and told the former head of Roscosmos that I had misspoke,” Vladimir Putin said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
The President was told that there was already a project with that name and it had been rewritten. “I haven’t even gotten there yet, but the project is already called ‘Sphere,’” Putin added.
Previously, the President proposed make Roscosmos services paid. According to Putin, in the near future the authorities will deal salary increases space industry specialists.
