Vladimir Putin Recognizes Independence of 2 Regions in Eastern Ukraine

Russian President, Vladimir Putin recognize the independence of the 2 regions in Ukraine East. These are the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

“I believe it is necessary to take a long -delayed decision, to immediately recognize the independence and sovereignty of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Lugansk People’s Republic,” he was quoted as saying. AFPTuesday (22/2/2022).

Putin also signed agreements of reciprocity and friendship with other leaders in the Kremlin. At the end of his speech, he asked the upper house of the Russian parliament, and the federation council to support this decision.

Furthermore, the lower and upper houses of the Russian parliament will vote today. Putin also demanded that Ukraine end its military operation against pro-Moscow forces.

“We demand an immediate end to military operations,” Putin said.

“Otherwise, all responsibility for the possible continuation of the bloodshed will fall solely with the ruling regime in Ukraine,” he added.

In his speech that lasted more than 1 hour, Putin spoke a lot about the history of Ukraine. “Modern Ukraine was completely and completely created by Russia,” Putin said.

He said Western countries had been ‘spitting on’ Russia’s security concerns for years by ‘moving NATO east and putting military infrastructure closer to Russia’s borders’.

The Russian leader said Western countries were trying to “blackmail” Moscow.

“There is only one goal: to stop Russia from developing. And they will do it, as they did before, without even a formal pretext at all,” Putin said.
