Vladimir Putin Ready to Return to Grain Agreement if Requirements Met: BRICS Summit Update

Vladimir Putin announced his readiness to return to the grain agreement if its requirements are met.

At the BRICS summit on August 22, a video message from Russian dictator Vladimir Putin was broadcast. He devoted most of his speech to the Grain Deal, which he himself wrecked a month ago.

Footage available at Telegram channel “Ukraine 365”.

Putin began to make excuses, assuring that he had broken the deal, allegedly due to non-compliance with the conditions regarding the withdrawal of Russian grain exports from sanctions.

Commitments to Russia in this regard were simply ignored… Taking into account the facts mentioned above, since July 18, we have refused to further extend this so-called deal“, Putin said.

He once again declared his readiness to return to the agreement, however, “in case of real fulfillment of obligations“before Russia.

What specific obligations are meant, he did not specify. However, it is known that Moscow wants, among other things, to connect to SWIFT a bank that controls its immediate environment, as well as to resume the transit of ammonia through Ukraine.

In the same speech, the dictator promised to replace grain supplies from Ukraine, which he himself is blocking.

Note that thanks to the Grain Agreement in the Black Sea, there was a safe corridor through which Ukraine could export its grain. In July, Moscow not only thwarted the deal, but also began destroying Ukraine’s port infrastructure with missiles in an attempt to cause maximum harm to Ukrainian exports. This caused acute dissatisfaction of the world community, including representatives of Africa.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to visit Moscow in the near future. It is known that the main topic of their conversation will be the renewal of the Grain Agreement.

Earlier, Dialog.UA reported that the first ship left the port of Odessa after Russia disrupted the grain deal.

We also wrote that Svitan spoke about Russia’s desire to freeze the war using the grain issue.
