The Koekoekstraat in Vlaardingen was hit by an explosion for the third time this week. No one was injured, but a fire briefly broke out. Residents of the street are anxious.
No one was injured in the explosion. No suspect has yet been arrested, the police reported on X.
This is the third explosion in the same street. Another home was hit on Monday, which also caused a fire. A day later the neighbors were targeted. According to Rijnmond an older couple lives there, who are anxious after the explosion. They say that there had also been a burglary in their house before.
Police are investigating whether these series of explosions are related. The reason is still unclear.
Vlaardingen has been a target of explosions for some time
Vlaardingen has been hit by a series of car fires and explosions for some time. Some of this is linked to a plumbing company. The plumber is said to have been the victim of an explosion several times, but has “no idea why”.
Due to the wave of violence, security had previously been increased in parts of Vlaardingen. But that doesn’t seem to put an end to the explosions.
The new explosions do not appear to be related to this plumbing company, police report.
