Vizzotti on Sí 98.9: “Restrictions are not being evaluated because there is no risk of overflow”

The Minister of Health of the Nation, Carla Vizzotti, once again urged the population to complete the coronavirus vaccine scheme, and recalled that the recommendation on the use of masks is still in force although it is no longer mandatory. In this context, you recalled that “the vaccine does not prevent contagion, but it reduces the possibility of contagion and prevents serious cases”.

The official said that at present “the application of the restrictions is not evaluated because there is no risk of the health system overflowing. We only recommend vaccination, which will bring an individual benefit and a negative impact on the transmission of the virus”.

On the other hand, he warned that “there are very concrete possibilities of reintroducing measles in the country” and recalled that in 2009 there was a resurgence of that disease. He said this virus persists in the rest of the world, and therefore the possibility of it re-entering the country will always be present.

In this sense, Vizzotti recommended vaccinating children from 13 months to 5 years with the triple viral that prevents measles, rubella and mumps) and Salk (anti-polio). The government is currently campaigning for an additional dose of this vaccine.
