Sukoharjonews.com – Vivo’s mid-range Y series lineup can be quite confusing. The brand has announced updates to various Y series smartphones released earlier this year such as vivo Y16, Y22, vivo V52t, Y75S and so on.

Quoted by Gismochina, Friday (9/23/2022), in this article we will compare the new model of the Y series, Vivo Y75S with its predecessor, Vivo Y75, launched earlier this year. The two phones have a lot in common, but there are also a lot of improvements.

The Vivo V75 5G was launched in January in India, while the Y75S was recently announced in China. It is possible that the Y75S entered the Indian market at a later date. As you may already know from the name, one of the biggest highlights of these two phones is support for the latest 5G networks.

Drawing
There are very subtle differences between the vivo V75 and the 75S model. One of the biggest changes in the design involves the rear camera module, which is narrower and smaller than the rectangular one found on the older Y75 model. Although the camera module is narrower than before, the number of cameras on the back remains the same: three. Actually, the camera settings have been improved, but more on that later.

For the front, the two phones have an identical design. There is a water drop-shaped front camera and a relatively thick chin at the bottom of the screen.

Coming to size, there is a very subtle difference. The vivo Y75 India model has dimensions of 164 x 75.9 x 8.3mm, which is slightly wider but thinner than the new Y75S body of 164 x 75.3 x 8.5mm. To be honest, there’s not a huge difference between the two devices, which isn’t surprising considering they’re both phones from 2022 and from the same lineup.

Similar to the two color options on the Y75 model, namely Glowing Galaxy and Starlight Black, the Y75S also comes in two color options: one black and the other a gradient variant.

Screen
The two smartphones of the Vivo Y75 series are basically mid-range. So don’t expect anything out of the ordinary in their display. In fact, both phones are still equipped with IPS LCD screens, but the panels are worth the price.

Both phones share a 6.58-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20: 9, a refresh rate of 60Hz, and a touch sample rate of 120Hz. Again, this is a pretty display. good for its price but doesn’t stand out in its segment. So in the display department the two phones are identical.

Specific
Again, these two phones share the exact same underlying processor. Both are powered by the MediaTek MT6833 Dimensity 700 mid-range octa-core chip clocked at 2.2 GHz. The chip offers fairly decent performance in the entry-level and mid-range segment, but its biggest selling point is its ability to provide 5G support at an affordable price.

But what sets the new Y75S model apart from the old Y75 is the available memory configuration. As Chinese consumers often prefer high-spec smartphones, vivo offers up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on the Y75S in China. In comparison, the vivo Y75 only offers a maximum of 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage options.

Another surprise about this new model is that it still does an old Android 11 fork with OriginOS Ocean UI on top. This is the same version found on the vivo 75 India model launched with the Functouch 12 user interface on top.

Connectivity
For connectivity, both phones offer good value for money. Both devices come with support for the 5G network. They also have security features like face unlock and a side-facing fingerprint scanner in addition to traditional features like Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac support, Bluetooth 5.1, support for MicroSD cards (hybrid SIM slot) and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Camera
So far, the changes to the Vivo Y75S may seem very subtle, but the camera department is where you’ll find the real updates.

While featuring the same triple camera setup as the Y75, each camera has been updated in terms of resolution.

For example, the Vivo Y75 India model comes with a triple camera setup with a 50MP f / 1.8 main camera but a very basic 2MP macro and depth camera. However, the new Y75S comes with a higher resolution 64MP f / 1.8 main camera, paired with another 8MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro camera. This is a much better combination with a more useful ultra-wide angle lens.

Another big improvement is in terms of video resolution. The Y75S offers 4K video recording while the previous model was limited to 1080p recording only.

On the other hand, the Y75S’s front-facing camera might look like a downgrade considering it features an 8MP sensor instead of the 16MP one found on the Indian model Y75.

Battery
The batteries of both devices are identical. Both phones are equipped with a 5000mAh battery with 18W charging.

Conclusion
Considering the same price as the vivo Indian Y75 and the Chinese Y75S, the newer model looks like a better product in the 2022 market. The Y75S features a much better camera setup with up to 12GB of RAM, offering users a better photography and memory experience compared with the older Indian variant.
