Vivo Y100 5G: Specifications, Price, and Features in Indonesia

KOMPAS.com – Smartphone manufacturer from China, Vivo, officially launched its newest cellphone Vivo Y100 5G in Indonesia, Thursday (25/1/2024). This smartphone adds to the length of the Y-series line catalog from Vivo in Indonesia.

The price of the Vivo Y100 5G in Indonesia is IDR 3.8 million for the RAM variant and 8 GB/128 GB storage media. Meanwhile, the 8 GB/256 GB variant is priced at IDR 4.1 million.

The superior specification for the Vivo Y100 5G is a battery with fast charging support of 80 Watts. Vivo also provides a battery protection guarantee of up to four years.

The Vivo Y100 5G smartphone also features a cellphone cross section made from premium fiber leather material and an anti-stain coating layer. This cellphone is also equipped with a 2.5D metallic frame.

Vivo Y100 5G has a 6.67 inch AMOLED screen with Full HD Plus resolution (2,400 x 1,080 pixels), refresh rate up to 120 Hz, maximum brightness level of 1,200 nits, pixel density of 394 ppi, and 100 percent DCI-color gamut coverage. P3.

This screen has a hole, aka a punch hole, which accommodates the cellphone’s front camera. The selfie camera has a resolution of 8 MP (f/2.0).

Turning to the back of the cellphone, there is a rectangular module that contains three rear cameras, namely a 50 MP main camera (f/1.8), an 8 MP wide angle camera (f/2.2), and a flicker sensor. To the right of the camera, there is an LED flash for photography in low light conditions.

As previously explained, the back of this smartphone is covered in synthetic leather and has an anti-stain coating. This material is claimed to make the cellphone resistant to dust, liquid and finger marks.

In the hardware sector, the Vivo Y100 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (4 nm) System-on-Chip (SoC). This eight-core (octa-core) chipset includes two Cortex-A78 cores (clockspeed 2.2 GHz) and six Cortex-A55 cores (clockspeed 1.95 GHz). This cellphone relies on an Adreno 613 graphics processing unit (GPU).

This Snapdragon chipset is combined with 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB/256 GB UFS 2.2 storage. Storage capacity can be expanded up to 1 TB by using a microSD card.

RAM can also be expanded up to 8 GB using the Extended RAM feature. So the total RAM you get can reach 16 GB.

For power, the Vivo Y100 5G is supported by a jumbo 5,000 mAh battery with 80 Watt FlashCharge fast charging. This battery is claimed to be able to be recharged up to 45 percent in 15 minutes.

Vivo guarantees that the battery’s health remains excellent, it will not drop below 80 percent within four years. If the Vivo Y100 5G’s battery health drops below that, Vivo will give you a free battery.

Still regarding the battery, there is also Super Battery Saver Mode. With this mode, users can get longer battery life for longer use, although the duration of the life is not specified.

The operating system (OS) that the Vivo Y100 5G runs is Android 14, which is polished with the Funtouch OS 14 interface (UI).

Other supporting features include water and dust proof certification with an IP54 rating, NFC, 5G connectivity, dual-nano SIM, WiFI, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, dual stereo speakers and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

On paper, the Vivo Y100 5G in Orchid Purple has dimensions of 163.17 x 78.81 x 7.79 mm and weighs 191 grams.

This is different from the Vivo Y100 5G Black Onyx which uses matte material. The dimensions are 163.17 x 75.81 x 7.79 mm with a weight of 185.5 grams.

Vivo Y100 5G is available in Indonesia in two color choices, namely Black Onyx and Purple Orchid. This smartphone can be ordered (pre-order) since Thursday (25/1/2024) at Vivo Indonesia online and offline stores.
