Vivo Officially Launches V1 Camera Chip

Smartphone manufacturers Vivo launched an image processing chip (ISP) Vivo V1 to improve photography capabilities on mobiles Vivo.

The V1 chip will debut in the X70 line of phones that will launch in September 2021.

“V1 will enhance the user experience by optimizing smartphone application scenarios such as viewfinder display and video recording,” said Executive VP and COO Vivo in China, Hu Baishan was quoted as saying by Gizmochina.

Sadly, Vivo does not reveal the capabilities or technical specifications of the V1. Vivo involving 300 people from the research and development team Vivo designed the V1 for 24 months

Vivo will launch Vivo The X70 consists of 3 models, namely the “regular” X70, X70 Pro, and X70 Pro Plus. The V1 chip will only be embedded in the X70 Pro Plus which is the top model.

Like the previous X60 line, the line Vivo The X70 will focus on photo and video capabilities in collaboration with camera manufacturer Zeiss.

After starting with ISP (V1), Baishan said that next Vivo will continue development according to the four predetermined directions, namely “Design”, “Image”, “Performance”, and “System”.

Vivo nor are they the only vendors developing their own chips. Oppo will also launch the Find X4 line with a standalone chipset early next year.
