The FBI can’t be “reformed.”
The right answer is: Shut It Down.
Yes, the President can do it.
I will.
— Vivek Ramaswamy (@VivekGRamaswamy) December 31, 2023
“The FBI cannot be reformed. The correct answer is to close it. Yes, the president can do that. I will,” he announced on his “X” account.
This isn’t the first time Ramaswamy has threatened to shut down the FBI. At the Republican convention in Anaheim in September, he promised to dismantle not only the FBI, but also the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Department of Education, calling them the “deep state ” (deep state) elements.
Recently, he has already stood out with his promise to recognize the Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine as part of Russia, as well as to give in to the Kremlin’s demand to prevent the expansion of NATO.
True, it is unlikely that these ideas of Ramaswamy will be realized, at least he will not be the possible implementer of them. In the polls, Ramaswamy is not only devastatingly behind the Republican primary candidate, ex-President Donald Trump, but significantly behind even Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Governor and former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley.
The Republican nominee will be chosen at the party’s July 15-18 National Convention in Milwaukee, while the Democrats, led by incumbent President Joe Biden, will announce the final candidate at the party’s August 19-22 National Convention in Chicago. The presidential election will be held on November 5, and the newly elected president will take office on January 20 next year.
