The Hofkapella at the court of Elector August II the Strong was led by the virtuoso violinist Piesendel, to whom many of the great Baroque composers dedicated their works.
Bulgarian violinist Zefira Valova – concertmaster of Les Ambassadeurs and soloist in recordings of concerts by Antonio Vivaldiexplores in depth with the conductor Pisendel’s art and the reasons why he was such a big star of his time. Alexis Kosenko discovered in the Dresden archives rare pages with improvisations and ornamentations written by the violinist for these concerts of the Venetian master, which makes the recordings on the disc particularly interesting and different from the others on the music market.
The CD “Antonio Vivaldi – Concertos for the Dresden Orchestra” was officially unveiled by Alpha on April 9th.
