Viva Engage: the social network that Microsoft presents to share images and stories in Teams | Technology

Microsoft adds to its existing Viva platform, a new application called Engage, a kind of company social network with roots in Communities for Teams.

Microsoft seeks to continue improving the work experience of its Viva platform and adds this kind of community social network called Engage, which was presented yesterday, July 19, at the annual Inspire partner conference.

For those who are a bit lost, Microsoft Viva is a communication and learning platform designed for work teams in a work environment. Viva is built with the employee experience in mind and gradually achieve the goals set by companies.

It already has several apps like Viva Learn, Viva Topics, Viva Connections and Viva Goals, and we added Viva Engage (there are more secondary apps on the platform). this search connect employees with each other, as well as offering the company’s senior management new ways of establishing dialogues with employees.

This will be available to Microsoft 365 customers at no additional charge, although they stress that you must have a Yammer license to use it. Viva Engage will be available on the Teams mobile apps for iOS and Android as Communities already is today.

Note that Microsoft also plans rename the Communities app for Teams as Viva Engage at the end of August, although it remains to be seen what finally happens.

On the other hand, the company is adding some tools that are used by the employees themselves in a more leisurely way to express themselves as they are. Storyline, Stories y Video Clip and you can already guess what all three are going to be used for.

Storylines are intended to create video posts, photos, links, and will be available to users in Viva Connections, Outlook, Teams, and Yammer. On the other hand, Stories will be photos or videos of very short duration, as we are used to. Lastly, Video Clip will allow users to easily record and send short video messages in Teams chat.
