It is with deep sadness and collective feeling of enormous grief that Vitória Sport Clube informs about the death of Neno, a historical figure of the club and of the city, who left us this Thursday night, at 59 years of age.
Former goalkeeper, the Portuguese international represented Vitória in three moments of his career, being part of the group that won the Cândido de Oliveira Super Cup in 1988. It was also at Vitória that he completed a long and beautiful journey as a footballer, remaining connected to the club in various functions, ranging from the pitch to institutional representation.
Charismatic, affable and always available, Neno was not just a figure in Vitória, but an icon of the city, known to everyone and who, for everyone, had a friendly gesture and a true smile.
Neno’s death represents a huge collective loss, but especially for his family and friends, to whom Vitória expresses its most heartfelt condolences.
