Vítkovice – Třinec 1: 2, Vítkovice failed for the third time, Třinec narrowly won the derby again

The players were not let down by the crowded hall and the first part of the third match brought a rather tactical battle. In the beginning, Třinec wasted two overpowering games, so that at the end of the twenty-minute period, the barrier in front of his own goal and Fridrich’s chance also survived. Immediately, the guest Dravecký also had a great opportunity, but after the raid he did not overtake the Stezka in the renumbering.

The somewhat more cautious nature of the match, with an emphasis on the defense, carried over into the second half and resulted in almost half an hour of waiting for the first goal. In the end, the Třinec team gained the advantage of the leading goal in the 29th minute, when Hrňa passed Chmielewski’s pass from the back guard behind Stezek’s back. The steelmakers also scored their first goal in the third duel of the series.

But the locals were able to respond. Flick was already leveling, but he didn’t shoot Kacetl. It wasn’t until Bernovsky succeeded during the short five-in-four power play, when, after a series of quick passes, he leaned into the puck from the first.

At the start of the third part, Musil returned the lead, who, after Kovařčík’s penetration and a blow to the pole, knocked the puck into the net from the goal area.

The match in front of less than eight thousand spectators could be sent to Kovář’s overtime, but his shot only went into the bar in the 50th minute. The Vítkovičs were no longer even close to leveling in the final power play. Even the third quarter-final match brought only three goals and again there were more successful reigning champions, who can decide on the progress to the semifinals in the shortest possible time on Thursday.
