Vitjaz defender Vorobey violates Covid-19 restrictions / Article / LSM.lv

In order for international competitions and matches to take place, there are a number of restrictions that must be observed by athletes who come to Latvia from other countries. On Tuesday, Podolsk “Vitjaz” played in Riga, but it is known that at least one of the players of this team has violated the requirements, for which Riga “Dinamo” must take responsibility.

Amendments to the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers (CM) on epidemiological safety provide for self-isolation requirements, as well as a condition not to visit public places. A person can communicate with other people only at the place and during the sporting event. Such guarantees must be given by the teams to the organizers of the event.

On the day before the game, Pavel Vorobey, the defender of the Podolsk “Vitjaz” team of the “Dinamo” opponent, published a photo on the social network “Instagram”, in which he can be seen outside the designated place of residence.

Edgars Severs, Head of the Sports Department of the Ministry of Education and Science (MES), revealed to “Panorama” that athletes are not currently allowed to see the views of Riga from picturesque places. The club has sent information to the Ministry of Education and Science that the requirements are followed in accordance with their procedures, but the case of Vorobeja proves that the organizer of the event “Dinamo” should pay attention to these teams, who arrive, that they are not allowed to go outside.

This case illuminates the security hole because the rules have been violated. Responsibility and control must be assumed by the organizer of an international sports event, which in this case is Riga “Dinamo”.
