The Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) announced today that visits by family caregivers temporarily suspended at the Pierre-Boucher Hospital and the Honoré-Mercier Hospital.
The Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) of Montérégie-Est announces that caregiver visits are now suspended at the Pierre-Boucher Hospital in Longueuil and the Honoré-Mercier Hospital in Saint-Hyacinthe.
“Considering the still high number of cases of COVID-19 in the population, the sustained transmission of the virus in the community, the outbreaks on the units and the high number of people hospitalized in connection with COVID-19, this measure proved to be necessary in order to limit the risks for users, their relatives, as well as all of our staff and doctors, ”the CISSS said in a press release.
Until further notice, only the following people will be admitted to the units of the two hospitals concerned:
• accompanying a person at the end of life, one person at a time;
• father, mother or legal guardian of a minor;
• accompanying a woman to the mother-child unit.
This restriction does not apply to Hôtel-Dieu de Sorel, where family caregivers are still authorized. (Source: CISSS Montérégie Est)
