Visiting pro mente facilities

LINZ. Birgit Gerstorfer (SPÖ), Minister for Social Affairs, obtained an overview of the numerous offers during a visit to pro mente Upper Austria institutions in Linz.

From the Wachtbergerhof residential building to temporary living in Kaisergasse, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and has been helping residents to reorient themselves and become healthy for 40 years. Finally, the regional councilor was presented with the low-threshold employment offer “back.up” for people with addiction problems. Visiting this workshop is anonymous, confidential, free and voluntary. The aim of this offer is to stabilize people to the point where advice and, at best, therapy is possible.

The meeting was once again in the foreground of the visit of State Councilor Gerstorfer. But also the exchange with managing director Gernot Koren, the Linz regional manager Raphaela Just and the facility managers was not neglected.

“The importance of mental health for a functioning society became particularly evident in the past year of the pandemic. For many people this time was very stressful and the effects on people with mental impairments are very noticeable. Pro mente Upper Austria is a reliable partner of the social department in the psychosocial area and I would like to thank you for the professional and appreciative support given to customers, ”said Birgit Gerstorfer on the occasion of her visit.
