Visiting Chartres: Exploring the Zoo Refuge La Tanière and the Historic Cathedral

Danielle and her husband Jean traveled more than 700 kilometers to come to Chartres during the month of August. Enthusiasts and donors to the zoo refuge La Tanière, in Nogent-le-Phaye, for several years, these holidays were obvious.

“We’ve been wanting to come to Chartres to visit this refuge for a while now. But what made us decide to come during this summer month is that at home, it’s much too hot. Here, the climate is temperate, that does us a lot of good. Besides, in anticipation of our return, I bought a cap with the effigy of the Lair as a souvenir”, laughs Danielle.

This summer, the villages reveal their treasures

“Take the time to discover France and Chartres in particular”

The couple came by motorhome since they want to “take the time to discover France and Chartres in particular”.

Today, they stroll through the city center of Chartres. “The cathedral is something. It intrigues us to tell ourselves that it was done so many years before us, and that it is still just as solid. This heritage monument of Chartres is a jewel” .
