From automotive to aerospace to electronics – the areas of application for laser material processing are diverse. In particular, the applications of laser welding and laser drilling often replace other manufacturing processes due to technical and economic aspects and offer great advantages. Because in addition to less distortion during laser welding and less burr formation or even no burrs during drilling with ultra-short pulse lasers (USP), the processes also stand out due to their good automation capability. The focus at the stoba Customized Machinery stand at the LaserWorld of Photonics 2023 is precisely on these processes.
Michael Berkner, Sales Laser Technology Expert, Simon Mohr, Laser Technology Expert and Matthias Leichtle, Team Leader Laser Application, will not only show examples of the results that can be achieved with laser welding and drilling. They are much more available to interested parties with their specialist knowledge as contact persons for questions about the technology and its application. “We look forward to a lively exchange with the visitors and to gaining new insights into the challenges they face in production. Because there are certainly many cases in which laser material processing can be an answer – and we are willing to seek, find and implement it in such a way that it optimally suits the individual application,” says Michael Berkner.
Previous projects of stoba Customized Machinery show what this can look like: A laser welding solution for the assembly of seven individual parts was recently developed in the aerospace sector. Another customer uses the FocusCOMBINED, a machine that enables a combination of laser welding, laser drilling and other processes (further details in the info boxes below). While stoba has so far mainly worked in the field of full automation in laser drilling, these projects are now also a reference for the company’s expertise in the laser macro world.
“The field of laser processing is becoming increasingly important – also at stoba Customized Machinery,” explains Simon Mohr. “The LaserWorld of Photonics is therefore an ideal opportunity to show what we can already do today and what we can do and develop for the future.”
stoba Customized Machinery can be found on all four exhibition days in Hall A3, Stand 416. Tickets for the exhibition can be requested from Christin Müller at [email protected].
