The JTI factory in Xanthi (SEKAP) was visited by the former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of the Cooperative Union of Tobacco Producers of Greece (SEKE), Mr. Kostas Karamanlis.
Mr. Karamanlis was given a tour of the factory’s facilities and was informed extensively about JTI’s investment activity in the rural area of Xanthi as well as about JTI’s productive, export and social “footprint” by the director of the factory, Mr. Danilo Stojanovic.
Mr. Karamanlis said he was impressed by the investment, the quality of the facilities, the mechanisms to ensure quality and the measures for the hygiene and safety of the workers.
For his part and referring to the close cooperation between JTI and SEKE, Mr. Stojanovic said “We have trusted the quality of Greek tobacco for over 42 years for our products internationally and we continue our close cooperation with SEKE, to the benefit of both sides”.
