JAKARTA – Square Enix has announced that the action RPG Visions of Mana for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store) will be launched in 2024.
Visions of Mana is a new entry in the Mana series, which is also the first main series in over 15 years.
“It’s been over 15 years since the last mainline entry in the series, so I’m thrilled to be able to announce Visions of Mana, which also represents the fulfillment of my personal ambition to create an all-new Mana game,” wrote producer for the Mana series, Masaru Oyamada in the announcement in X.
Visions of Mana will take you on a new adventure with the protagonist named Val, a guardian of souls tasked with protecting her childhood friend, who has been chosen by Faerie as the Alm of Fire to travel to the Mana Tree and rejuvenate the flow of mana.
Oyamada also revealed that Mana series creator Koichi Ishii also contributed to bringing back familiar monsters in the game including the iconic rabbit.
“Mr. “Ishii’s cute and endearing nature combines with the beast’s innate evil nature to push the series’ visuals to a new level that’s fitting for the latest Mana game,” he added.
As for the music, it was expertly handled by the company’s three returning composers from Trials of Mana, Hiroki Kikuta, Tsuyoshi Sekito, and Ryo Yamazaki.
“You can expect great things from their score, where each of their personal touches shines through to brighten the adventure at every turn!” he closed.
