Visa Requirements for Saprissa and Motagua in Concacaf Playoff Series

Saprissa and Motagua must think about something more than preparing their strategies for the round-trip playoff series that defines which of the two advances to the Concacaf Champions Cup. The challenge for both clubs goes beyond the field, as they require time to obtain entry visas for their players to Honduras and Costa Rica.

The ‘S’ was eliminated in the Central American Cup by losing the quarterfinal series against Real Estelí of Nicaragua; while the same thing happened to Motagua, when it was surpassed by the CAI of Panama.

But the purples and the Catracho team are playing one more card to access that competition to which Liga Deportiva Alajuelense and Club Sport Herediano have already qualified.

As Costa Rica chose to require a consular visa for Catrachos entering national territory, Honduras decided to apply the principle of reciprocity starting this October 10, so that Ticos must also process a visa to enter that country, ” without any exception.”

This means that Saprissa and Motagua are running at this moment to process their respective visas and be able to play this international series, complying with the mandatory requirement, like any Costa Rican who intends to go to Honduras, or any Honduran who wishes to come to Costa Rica.

The playoff series between Saprissa and Motagua will open on October 25, at 6 pm, at the Chelato Uclés Stadium in Tegucigalpa; while the second leg will be on November 1, at the same time, at the Ricardo Saprissa Stadium.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Honduras announced the 15 requirements that Ticos must meet to obtain their visa, among which are the vaccination card against yellow fever and covid-19.

As well as police records that are duly legalized for six months, proof from the Public Ministry of Honduras that there is no complaint or investigation process, and proof from Interpol that there is no complaint or alert.

These are the 15 requirements that Honduras asks of Ticos for the visa

Saprissa trusts to have the visas in time to go to Honduras
