Visa process not completed; The Indian star will be late for the T20 World Cup
Cricketers are preparing for the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia on the 16th of this month. Last week, Umran Malik was included in the Indian team as a net pitcher. But it has been reported that the star’s tour of Australia will be delayed due to the delay in completing the visa process.
It is also reported that Umran will play for Jammu and Kashmir in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament starting tomorrow. Umran will also be available to participate in Jammu and Kashmir’s first match against Meghalaya in Mohali tomorrow, said Bridadier Anil Gupta, administrator of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association.
Meanwhile, it is indicated that Umran will only be able to play in tomorrow’s game. Once the visa process is complete, Umran will return to Australia along with Indian team reserve players such as Shreyas Iyer, Deepak Chahar, Ravi Bishnoi and Mohammad Shami.
It is reported that Kuldeep Sen, who has been selected as the Indian team’s net pitcher alongside Umran, will also delay going to Australia. It is still unclear whether Kuldeep will play Syed Mushtaq Ali. Umran, Kuldeep and Mohammad Siraj, who were selected as net bowlers, were due to go to Australia on the 6th of this month.
Siraj is currently playing in the ODI series against South Africa. It is reported that Siraj will go to Australia along with the standby players on the 12th of this month once the procedures are completed.
The Indian team, which left for Australia on the 6th, is camped in Perth. After playing two warm-up matches against Western Australia, the Indian players will travel to Brisbane on the 16th.
India will play a warm-up match in Brisbane on the 17th. After this, India will also play a warm-up match against New Zealand. India’s first match at the World Cup is against Pakistan on the 23rd.
