Visa has partnered with Moroccan start-up Neolli to help local artisans access electronic payments and expand their businesses. This initiative is part of Visa’s mission to promote inclusive, equitable and sustainable growth for small businesses, as well as its global commitment to empower 50 million small businesses with access to digital tools. by the end of 2023.
Neolli, winner of “She’s Next,” Visa’s global program to strengthen women-owned businesses through financing and mentorship, is led by Mariem Faghraoui, a young female entrepreneur.
Neolli provides a platform for traditional local artisans to showcase and sell their products online, while taking care of logistics and maintaining a relationship with customers.
The partnership was signed on International Women’s Day to reaffirm Visa’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs and small businesses. A recent Visa study of women entrepreneurs in Morocco found that 80% of them currently accept cash and cashless payments, and a third say they would use additional funds to invest in new technologies, improve the security of their online activities, expand their teams, and create new products to enter new markets.
