Virus madness again loses summary proceedings over demonstration Malieveld

The ban on the demonstration of action group Viruswaanzin, tomorrow on the Malieveld in The Hague, remains in force. The court in The Hague has decided that. It is not yet clear why the judge did this. The judge will provide a motivation on Monday.

Mayor Remkes of The Hague banned the protest yesterday, on the same grounds as a week earlier. According to the mayor, the protest poses a threat to public health because of the expected high turnout. There is also a risk of serious disorders.

“The demonstration is sold under the motto ‘freedom’, but it actually leads to lawlessness,” said Remkes. The municipality of The Hague calls on people not to demonstrate at the Malieveld tomorrow. Anyone who comes to “personal title” is also in violation.

One of the Virus Madness leaders, Willem Engel, says that the organization is still considering a response to the summary proceedings.

Engel had previously called on his supporters to come to Malieveld in a personal capacity. Remkes called the appeal “completely irresponsible”.

Hundreds of arrests

Virus insanity also lost an injunction last week about the ban. Nevertheless, a few thousand people gathered on Sunday at Malieveld, who were finally given permission to demonstrate for half an hour by Mayor Remkes at 1 p.m. Some did not want to leave afterwards was arrested. There were also riots with football hooligans.

The action group wants to get rid of all corona measures and therefore demands in another summary proceedings against the State that it ends the one and a half meter society. That procedure comes to a standstill for the time being after Virus Madness has avenged a judge over supposed bias.
