More than 10 million cases of the new coronavirus have been officially recorded worldwide, more than half of them in Europe and the United States, according to a count made by AFP from official sources on Sunday at 11:30 am (Swiss time) .
At least 10,003,942 cases, including 498,779 deaths, have been recorded, especially in Europe, the continent most affected with 2,637,546 cases including 195,975 deaths, and in the United States (2,510 ‘ 323 cases including 125,539 deaths). The pace of the pandemic continues to accelerate worldwide, with one million new cases detected in just six days.
The number of infections only reflects part of the actual number of cases, with many countries using the tests only for tracing or not having sufficient resources to carry out large-scale screening campaigns. (ats / Le Matin)
