Suara.com – The pandemic caused by the Covid-19 virus has raised public awareness to pay more attention to hygiene issues. Including cell phone cleanliness or smartphone which are susceptible to be inhabited by harmful viruses and bacteria.
How not, cell phones are objects that are often touched by our fingers. Cellphones are also often placed in various places where cleanliness is not guaranteed. These objects are often close to the mouth and ears when receiving a call.
To make communication tools clean and safe to use, of course there are recommended ways to clean them. Adapting from the page Reader’s Digest, cell phones need to be cleaned regularly. However, it is best to avoid using antibacterial wipes or sprays.
According to technology expert Burton Kelso, “The use of antibacterial wipes or sprays on computers, keyboards and cell phones, should be avoided. Abrasive chemicals can leave scratches on the screen and damage the protective coating on the device ”. The touch screen can become less sensitive and responsive if you use alcohol, vinegar or bleach for a long time.
The method of cleaning recommended by Burton Kelso is:
1. Turn off the cellphone, spray the special cellphone cleaner on a microfiber cloth then gently rub it onto the surface of the cellphone.
2. Work up to all corners and back of the phone.
3. Allow to dry before restarting.
Using a tissue or towel is not recommended by Kelso because it is very abrasive and can scratch the surface. Microfiber cloth is recommended because it is very soft and absorbs water quickly. Ideally, cleaning your cellphone is done every day after traveling, that is, when the cellphone is used outside of a large area of people. That’s the suggestion from Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
You can also use a tool with ultra violet light if you don’t want to be complicated using a special cleaner.
