Krasimir Stoyanov is adamant that the number of employees in Ravnets will exceed 1,000
The shareholder in Virtus Investment AD Krasimir Stoyanov spoke to Flagman.bg minutes after the Municipal Council of Burgas gave the green light to his company to build a green hydrogen plant in Ravnec.
Stoyanov for the first time explained the details of the project, which is high-tech with the potential to provide 1,000 jobs.
He admitted that drust directed his company to Ravnecand in Burgas they were met by a mayor who assisted them from the first minute.
Decent! The municipal council supported the investment of BGN 600 million in the green hydrogen plant
“We will build facilities for storing hydrogen, tanks for associated gases, synthesis of ammonia – the most promising fuel for ships and aircraft, but also the basis for the production of fertilizers. The utilization of hydrogen is logically done with highly efficient technologies. We envisage the production of hydrogen cells on the territory of the park in Ravnets. Ammonia is the best seasonal energy storage. In summer, 7 times more energy is generated than in winter. Statistics show that 1 kW/h of energy produced in summer will cost only 6 cents in winter. Can you imagine how effective seasonal storage is? Each building can be equipped with an ammonia tank and a hydrogen cell and thus generate its own energy. The losses are put into heat and the energy is green. In Europe, there is so far no park producing hydrogen for such purposes. Everyone is concentrating on production for the industries,” explained Krasimir Stoyanov.
Dimitar Nikolov after the Council of Ministers voted “for” green hydrogen in Ravnets: I am proud of such decisions!
He specified that his company has an identical project as the one in Burgas, which will be implemented on the territory of Maritsa Iztok. The ambitious undertaking, known as the “Great Hydrogen Valley”, envisages providing 5,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year for 4 industries.
Stoyanov is adamant that hydrogen is the energy of the future and any electric car could easily be converted into a hydrogen one. That is why they rely on innovative technology for the production of hydrogen at a very low cost.
“Burgas is suitable because, from a logistical point of view, it is in a wonderful position. Here we have planned 10,000 square meters for a training center with a campus for personnel training. This is an extremely responsible activity,” added Stoyanov.
The shareholder in “Virtus Investment” AD specifies that the future plant will have more than 17 types of facilities, which will occupy an area of more than 100 decares. The minimum number of hired employees is 1,000, but the number can grow, Stoyanov announced.
“The chance that natural gas will be replaced by hydrogen is growing. Currently, in a forecast related to the production and consumption of hydrogen in the EU – 33-35 million tons. In 5-6 years there should be production in the volume of 350 million tons .5,000 tons of hydrogen is produced from a 160 MW park with 400 MWh of energy storage,” he added.
