“I’m Fedha, the first anchor in Kuwait to work with artificial intelligence at Kuwait News. What kind of news do you prefer? Let’s hear your views,” she says in classical Arabic.
It is an old Kuwaiti name which, according to the deputy director of Kuwait News, Abdullah Boftain, “refers to silver, to metal.” “People always imagine that robots are made of silver and metal, so we mix the two,” he told AFP.
The website, affiliated with Kuwait Times, the first English-language daily in the Gulf founded in 1961, is testing the potential of artificial intelligence to come up with “new and innovative content,” he explains.
