In order to realize its vision of the Metaverse, the Facebook group Meta needs one thing in addition to the appropriate software: high-performance devices that can convince customers to buy. The group therefore bought Oculus VR as early as 2014 and brought the development of virtual reality headsets in-house. So far, the devices have primarily been aimed at female gamers, but that should change now.
